Gyula, this historical bathing town rich in monuments, is situated in the southeastern part of Hungary, by the Hungarian–Romanian national border. Its history goes back to the 14th century.
The town accommodated the only surviving, Gothic brick castle of Central Europe, erected in flatlands back in the 15th century, which in the summer hosts theatric performances.
Being deservedly famous for its medicinal waters, the four-star Castle Baths offer medicinal and adventure pools to guests alongside with a water paradise for children, a wave pool, giant and kamikaze shoots, as well as a competition pool that can also be used in wintertime. Hunguest Hotel Erkel*** hosts guests in the Castle Garden, next to the boating lake and the Castle, in a friendly atmosphere, with favourable rates. Via a covered corridor, the Castle Baths can be accessed directly from the hotel.
The western rooms of the Hotel offer a compelling view to the Castle and the boating lake in front. Building D*** has double-bed and triple-bed standard rooms together with spacious, air-conditioned superior rooms.
We serve the comfort of our guests with disabilities with 5 air-conditioned rooms. Our rooms are equipped with TV sets, refrigerators and telephones. Our superior rooms – in addition to the amenities of the standard rooms – feature safe deposit boxes and DVD players.
GASTRONOMY
Our air-conditioned Fortuna Restaurant is suitable for hosting 400 guests with Hungarian specialties, as well as the tastes of international cuisine for gourmands. Our offer also includes vegetarian and reform dishes.
In boarding-type catering, our guests are provided with abundant meals from buffet tables.
Beside buffet-table meals, we wish to attract our guests to the restaurant with an a’ la carte offer, including coffee and drink specialties, as well as cocktails.
